While Chad is out of town...

Chad was out of town the last couple weeks of March, so we tried to keep ourselves entertained with some new activities.  A friend of Chad's mom has a bunch of horses that are so gentle and love to be around people.  One of his mare's had a colt the end of March and we were lucky enough to visit her the day after she was born!  The kids loved it.  They would stay at the barn all of the time if it were  possible!  The new colt is a female and named after Chad's mom because she always helps out with the horses and tries to go and watch them when they are racing.  Although there is still so much snow here, spring has definitely arrived for all the farm animals.  Driving around you can see all the new babies with their moms.  It's a good feeling!

My two animal lovers.
 The new colt, Terri.
The mother Bee and her colt.
These are last year's colts, Lollipop and Martha.

The kids wanted to get out and do something different, me included, so we hit the local bowling alley and had a blast.  Gavin kept whining whenever it was anyone else's turn, so Hallie being the wonderful older sister that she is, let him help her with most of her turns.  They make such cute bowlers!

 I can't believe she's almost 5!
He's just a stinker, but so cute!
The three musketeers.  It was fun to hang out with my two best buds!

Another great thing about living in this area, is that a lot of the school sponsored activities are free.  The state has a lot of money for education, so they don't really need to charge for sporting events, plays, etc.  One evening Whitney and I took the kids to the high school auditorium to watch the middle school's production of Beauty and the Beast.  My kid's eyes were glued to the stage, the middle school kids did an amazing job, and Hallie was bummed the next day when we didn't go watch it again!  For a small town, we're really finding some fun things to do!  The trick is to take advantage and enjoy it while we're here.
