Christmas Activities

December was full of so many fun activities!  I thought the best way to put them all up, was just to combine them.  We enjoyed all the fun things before Christmas!

Best buds!  I hope it lasts!

Christmas art projects.  We let our creative juices flow!

We celebrated my dad's birthday, along with many others this month as well!

My little cookie makers.  Great helpers that day with very few mishaps!

Snow bunnies...no matter how little snow there is!

"How do I use that shovel with these mittens?"

Santa statue at the Museum

Where Santa vacations after Christmas day.

Gingerbread replica of the Idaho Falls Temple.

Playtime at the museum

The biggest Santa statue ever!

Such a good daddy!

This is Hallie's version of our Snowman family.  We're all there...even our soon to come new addition.

We can't forget frosting the Christmas cookies!

I love all the activities for the month!  The kids were totally in the spirit of the month.  They put the change in the salvation Army canisters, sang Christmas songs while walking through the stores, and pulled off a paper chain each day from their Christmas countdown.  It was a fun month!

Happy Birthday Chad!!!

We had a nice down-home birthday for Chad.  Quiet, but plenty of fun for two 4 year olds, two 2 year olds, and a 1 year old.  Chad requested a simple meal, taco salad, one of his favorites.  After dinner we sang happy birthday and each of the kids took a turn blowing out their own candle.  I made Chad a totally yummy flour-less chocolate cake.  We all loved it, especially my niece who is not a cake eater.  Later we found her in the kitchen all alone, eating the cake by the handful!  Obviously it was a hit!

We finished off the night with a bonfire, which we had to abandon thanks to the thunder and lightening show!

Me and my man!

Such cute kids!  They're are lots of places to play in Wyoming!

Chad's birthday cake!  Definitely making this one again!

Happy Birthday Chad!  We sure love you!

A New Favorite!

My kids love popcorn, and I especially love caramel corn! When we lived in Henderson, I was getting ready to go to a girls night and I wanted to take some caramel corn, but didn't want to use a typical caramel corn recipe, or I was out of something it needed. So, I found a marshmallow popcorn recipe and gave it a shot! The girls loved it and I found a new favorite!

So now in Wyoming, I was wanting some caramel popcorn again, but we were out of corn syrup, so I found another marshmallow popcorn recipe, and loved it again!

It's really so easy, and my kids love it even more because of marshmallows!
So here's what you do:
1 batch of hot air popped popcorn (about 1/2 cup kernels)
In a small sauce pan, melt together over medium heat:
1 stick butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup mini marshmallows
Just melt together till combined, pull off heat, and pour over popped popcorn!

Melting into ooey, gooey, goodness...
Pour and stir...
Enjoy the sticky, gooey, yummy popcorn!
It's easy enough to do that Hallie and Gavin can help in all of it too!
