My mom and I had such a fun time taking the kids to sit on Santa's lap today. Gavin's been looking forward to it for quite awhile and Hallie wanted to make sure he's the real deal. Before getting to Santa we had ran some errands and it got to be lunch time, but Gavin was adamant about seeing Santa before eating any lunch. So we headed to the mall. There were a couple kids in front of us, which gave Hallie some time to check him out. Before getting up there she started saying, "I think he might be real." They sat up on his lap together, and Hallie told him one thing she wanted, which she had never mentioned to me and Chad. That was a little surprising. Gavin sat on his lap, but he wouldn't speak to him. He would only shake his head "yes" or "no" and didn't even look at him until the very end! It was all very funny. When they were all done, Hallie was so excited and told me, "He's real. It's not even glued on!" I guess she was worried that his beard would be glued to his face. Then she told me that his suit looked real too! Gavin liked telling us that his mustache was real. He loved the visit, and Hallie left as a believer that this Santa was real!
Hallie chose her own clothes for her visit to Santa. I love the fact that it was a Christmas dress. Had I suggested anything like that, it would've been shot down!
Gavin also wanted to wear his Christmas shirt. They are so cooperative for this, but family pics is a whole other story!
He really was a great looking Santa. It made me happy that they still allowed me to take my own photo rather than paying an arm and leg for one photo. We just had to stand outside the roped off area to capture a shot. It still turned out great.
We Believe! Merry Christmas!
