The Beach at San Diego

I can't even begin to tell you how refreshing it was to be back at the beach and the coast! We spent one morning there and even though it was a tad chilly, we loved it!

Here's Gavin after running and playing. Just tired and ready to sit.
Hallie didn't take a seat until about 10 minutes before we left. She just runs and runs!
We were trying to run away from the water and not get caught. Hallie did get "caught" and loved it. It took her a few minutes to decide to get out!
Hallie's wanted to be buried in the sand for a very long time! She didn't hesitate when the opportunity presented itself!
Then we dug a huge hole and buried them both half-way.
We love grandma Webb! She deserved a moment to sit down!
My message to my hubby who couldn't join us. I sure love that guy!

Well that is the end of our San Diego get-a-away. There are always so many pictures, but these are a few of our favorites. So much fun and a big, big thank you to grandma and grandpa Webb, who are never afraid to take their grand kids with them! We are so blessed!

Until next time San Diego...

Weekend with the Perrys!

We were so lucky to have our good friends the Perry's come and stay with us for a few days! We met them while in chiropractic school and Steve just recently graduated, so while on the job hunt they were passing through the Vegas area and popped in to stay! We loved it! Natalie and I became good friends while being neighbors, plus we are both from Idaho Falls and we were prego buddies during our last pregnancy. Natalie lucked out and Ivy came about a month before Gavin decided to show! Natalie's an amazing cook, baker, etc., so check out her blog for many delicious recipes!
We had so much fun just hanging out, playing at the park, eating, quick visit to the strip, and catching up on old times! I am so thankful for such great friends! Hallie and Gavin were entertained for an entire weekend! It was great!

We spent one afternoon at the park. This picture proves there is grass in Southern Nevada!
We hit M&M World and bought just a few of the m&m's that are $12.99 a pound!!!
Catchin' a glimpse of the view!
This is the second time we got a picture with the Coke bear and our kids actually got close to him this time!
Jelly Belly's have hit New York! Pretty amazing statue, all out of Jelly Belly's!
We finished off with dinner at an all-time favorite restaurant, Cafe Rio, yum! Sophie is such a beauty and couldn't get enough of the dress up! (This photo is courtesy of Hallie Webb photography.)
The Doctors, just soakin' it all in! Once again, Hallie Webb Photography.
The crew. As you can tell, nothing was left. I could eat there right now!
Happy goodbyes! Since Natalie and I are both from Idaho Falls, we have a good chance to see each other again at holidays and summer visits. I love that our kids get along so great! Hallie loved having another girl to play with.
It was so nice having a close friend over to chat and hang with! Natalie is one in a million and I'm so lucky that we are friends!
Natalie and Steve are exactly where we were at one year ago, trying to decide on a job and where to live! And one year later, we are doing it again, but it's all good and so right! So, best wishes to Natalie and Steve on non-student life, a.k.a real life! You'll do awesome! We love that you came to visit us!

What We Miss

When Chad was back in the job hunt and we knew the day would come that we would move, I began considering some of the things we would miss about California, particularly the bay area. Here's a list, to name a few!

(No particular order)

Really great weather! Sure a few hot days here and there, but nothing like we will be experiencing in Nevada.

The ocean. We weren't there weekly, but we loved every time we were there. It is so powerful and so beautiful! I can't wait to put my feet in it again!

My neighbors Donna and Ed. We could always count on them to keep an eye on our place and my kids loved them. Even now, if we ask Gavin where Ed is, he looks out the window and waves! We miss their friendship.

All the neighbors and the ward! So welcoming, united, and lots of good times!

My front and back yard, with grass! Although my yard was nothing to brag about, I loved my flower gardens and grass. It gave the kids a place to run and I love the smell of freshly cut grass!

Half Moon Bay. One of our favorite places to go for a day trip. All the greenhouses, little shops, the ocean, and our favorite place for a pumpkin patch!

My yearly pass to the zoo. A place that we never got tired of! We've been told out here by a couple of people that the zoo is not great. I guess we will see!

The diversity of things to see and do. You can find just about anything to do there. So many options!

Super Franks! That has to be the best indoor play area ever! Hallie could play there for hours and never once asks to go home, or that she's bored, or hungry. Everywhere there are parents and kids needs to have a Super Franks!

Food-So many options for resturants, grocery shopping, etc. We definitely had our favorites, but enjoyed the diversity!
